For this piece, I wanted to focus in on the idea of how different aspects of our lives can lead us down new paths. In the case of Ilke, his plushie is a symbol of exactly that, as the game, "Hollow Knight" which the stuffy is based upon, incited him to take drawing more seriously, resulting in him posting his artwork online, where he then ended up meeting his friend and eventually applied to Emily Carr. In order to convey this journey, I thought it would be fitting to place it within the context of the game itself, specifically the beginning. In turn signifying his ongoing path and alluding to where he has been, by including objects that represent significant markers in his journey thus far.
